Course curriculum

    1. Introduction

    2. In this series, we will go through the basics of Digital Logic and a hands on simulated Circuit Design task using a cloud tool.

    3. Let's do a quick review about Binary Numbers.

    4. In this video - let's quickly review about Logic Gates.

    5. Review on Logic Gates including AND, OR Gates continued.

    6. Review of Logic Gates including XOR Gates continued.

    7. Now that we have some understanding on Logic Gates - let's try hands-on about Logic Gates in simulator.io.

    8. Let's continue with our hands-on activities about Logic Gates in simulator.io.

    9. Let's continue with our hands-on activities about Logic Gates in simulator.io.

    10. Let's continue with our hands-on activities about Logic Gates in simulator.io.

    11. Let's do a quick review about Half Adder.

    12. Review about Half Adder continued.

    13. Now let's review about Full Adder.

    14. It's now time to try hands-on about Half Adder and Full Adder in simulator.io.

    15. Let's continue with our hands-on activities about Half Adder and Full Adder in simulator.io.

    16. Let's now review about Flip Flop.

    17. Review about Flip Flop continued.

    18. Let's now review about Register.

    19. Let's try hands-on about Flip Flop in simulator.io.

    20. Adder and Flip Flop hands on activity continued to understand how memory works.

    21. Correlating our circuit with calculator functionalities.

    22. Preview of Seven Segment display hands on activity, which we will be discussing in Chapter 2.

    23. Preview of Seven Segment display hands on activity continued along with explanation of Q bar.

    24. Concluding our preview for Chapter 2.

    25. Let's discuss about Truth Table for Logic Gates with all our understanding so far before we continue with Chapter 2.

    1. Quick review of concepts learned from Chapter 1.

    2. Quick review of Logic Gates.

    3. Quick review of Logic Gates continued.

    4. Quick review of Half Adder and Full Adder.

    5. Quick review about Flip Flop and discuss about an activity for students.

    6. Let's discuss about Incrementer Circuit, which we will using in our 7 Segments Display project in this Chapter.

    7. Let's discuss about Decrementer Circuit, which we could include in our 7 Segments Display project.

    8. So let's get started on our 7 Segments Display hands on project in simulator.io. Let's also review the concept of Decoder.

    9. Let's start building the required circuits for this project. But let's also discuss about orientation of circuits with simulator.io.

    10. Placing the switch in our circuit and discuss about the importance of connecting the carry in our circuit.

    11. Now let's discuss about the need for memory in our circuit.

    12. So let's connect the Sum to the Flip Flops in our circuit.

    13. Let's connect the Q of the flip flop to the other input of the Half Adder.

    14. Discuss about the need to add button to the Enable input of flip flop which helps complete the circuit.

    15. So let's control the flow of the circuit by placing the button and let's also discuss about the importance of clock and it's relevance with CPU.

    16. Now it's time to place the Segment Display in our Circuit and let's also discuss about the importance of identifying Least Significant Bit and Most Significant Bit.

    17. Let's connect the Segment Display inputs appropriately and then let's try to test our circuit and see if we get the expected results in the 7 Segment display.

    18. Let's now add LED's to our circuit to represent the binary representation of our 7 Segment Display output.

    19. Let's now discuss about how we can add Decrementer Circuit in our project.

    20. Let's test our Final project with Incrementer and Decrementer circuit 7 Segment Display.

    21. Let's discuss about Clock, Clock speed and how Clock could be used in our Circuit.

    22. Let's discuss about the importance of pulse.

    23. Our final project modified to run with Clock.

    24. Congratulations!

The course was very effective at providing a high level understanding of digital logic, meaning that the course provided great instruction into what happens in different scenarios and just briefly touches on why or how theses things happen in the same depth. This is greatly beneficial because the why and how of many of the topic covered is university level physics.
